In Shawsand Medical Centre, we provide contemporary inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services. The mission of Physiotherapy Department is to
identify and improve the quality of life of our patients by using evidence based physical approaches to promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological
and social well-being of patients. We provide high quality physical and cognitive rehabilitation services and restore movement and normal body function as
well as individual's highest level of independent functioning.
The services we offer include but not limited to:
Pre and Post operative rehabilitation in both neurological, cardiopulmonary and orthopedic conditions.
Paediatric Physiotherapy for children with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Erbs palsy, klumpke's palsy, injection palsy and other physical disabilities.
Rehabilitation of;
- musculoskeletal conditions like cervical and lumbar spine facet joint problems, cervical and lumbar spondylosis, disc herniation/prolapse, shoulder
impingement syndrome, shoulder instability, frozen shoulders, shoulder osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, meniscal injuries, anterior knee pain,
medial collateral ligament injuries, anterior cruciate ligament injuries, knee osteoarthritis, ankle sprain, achilles tendinitis, plantar fasciitis etc.
- Neuromuscular conditions like stroke, paraplegia, brachial nerve injuries, sciatica, parkinsonism etc.
- Cardiopulmonary conditions like COPDs, congestive heart disease, emphysema, bronchitis etc.
- Women's health conditions like pubic symphisis diastasis, pelvic floor muscle weakness, diastasis recti abdominal etc.
- Mobility and balance disorders in the elderly.
